Biography
Dr. Lauren Griffiths will be joining us as an assistant professor in the Biology Department. She received her B.S. in Environmental Studies from right here at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú in 2014. Dr. Griffiths received her M.S. at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú Gulf Coast University and her Ph.D. from the University of South ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú with research focused on wetland ecology and biogeochemistry in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú and Puerto Rico. She comes to us from the University of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú where she has been working on projects across ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú in a range of ecosystems including cattle ranches and dairies, oyster reefs, urban streams, and, of course, wetlands! In her spare time, Dr. Griffiths enjoys spending time hiking with her husband and cat when the weather is cooler but when the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can find her woodburning, knitting, baking, or reading.Education
